About Studieskolen
At Studieskolen we offer Danish Education 3 and therefore we required that our students have solid academic background. This is to ensure that groups are homogenous and that students are able to follow the fast progression and meet the high demands.
Our lessons take place in Copenhagen City and we offer classes at all times of the day. Courses at all levels start every six weeks and are completed with a test. Our teachers have university degrees and many of them have written and published textbooks used for teaching Danish. Teachers stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methods through regular supplementary training and use stimulating, effective and fun teaching methods in their lessons.
We also offer specialized courses such as pronunciation lessons, written Danish and Danish for Scandinavians.
We also offer the official Danish language examinations two times a year.
Goal:
The objective of Studieskolen's Danish Department is to teach the Danish Language Education 3 of Law 375. Teaching is conducted in accordance with an agreement with the Council of Copenhagen (Københavns Kommune) as the operating municipality.
The implementation of this objective:
▪ Danish courses are organised so that students achieve the fastest possible progression within the four language skills.
▪ Teaching is tailored to the individual student, yet with a common goal of achieving competent language skills to use in employment, education, and as a citizen
▪ Classes are held at all times of the day
▪ The lower modules (1-4) are structured so that they operate (as far as possible) within the same curriculum in regards the same textbooks in each module, so that students can easily change classes (i.e. from day to evening classes)
▪ The teaching in Module 5 is structured so that progression in regards to language content is coordinated as far as possible within uniform class types
▪ The daily textbook-based teaching is supplemented with project work, work in the IT workshop, in the language laboratory, and upon referral in the pronunciation clinic
▪ Our classes are aimed at giving students the ability to pass the Danish 3 Examination (Prøve i Dansk 3) at an above-average level
▪ Methods and materials are constantly updated
▪ It is possible for the instructors to have time allotted into their schedules so that they are able to develop teaching materials
The main part of Studieskolen's target group can be described as foreigners who plan on living in Denmark for a long time, perhaps always. They are foreigners who have or will have a relatively broad contact with Danes, i.e. through their job, education, friendships, marriage, or other close association.
Because of their social situation in Denmark, Studieskolen's target group need, in regard to linguistic form and content, a high-level proficiency of Danish in order to achieve the possibility of fulfilling a function which corresponds to their educational level from their home country.
Studieskolen's Danish department aims for an active and creative learning environment continuously enriched by the participation of students and staff alike.
