The exam
The Active Citizen Exam is an exam comprising 15 questions about Danish society and everyday life - such as organisations, rights and duties, the Danish labour market - and Danish history and culture.
The Ministry has developed a publication - Fakta om Danmark - which you must read before taking the exam. The publication is available in Danish language only on the Ministry of Children and Education's website. You will be able to answer all questions in the exam based on the information in this publication. However, you cannot bring the publication or other aids with you to the exam.
All 15 questions are multiple choice questions where the correct answer must be indicated among several alternatives. The exam is held in Danish.
The exam takes 30 minutes. In order to pass the exam you must answer at least 10 out of 15 questions correctly. It may take three to four weeks before the results arrive. If you have passed the exam, the language centre will issue a proof of passed exam for you which you have to pick up at Studieskolen’s office. Remember to bring photo ID.
