Danish 3 Examination

The Danish 3 Examination concludes module 5 of Danish Education 3. This is the exam you need when applying for Danish citizenship. The exam consists of a written and an oral part.

The written exam is made up of a reading comprehension test and a written test. The reading comprehension test lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes and is divided into two parts where you answer questions based on some written material. In order to be able to read the material you will need some knowledge of Danish society.
The written test lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes and is divided into two parts. You have to write either a formal or an informal letter/enquiry as well as a written assignment on a given subject.

The oral exam consists of a test of oral communication combined with listening comprehension. The test lasts 30 minutes and is divided into two parts.  For Part 1, you have to prepare a presentation on an assigned topic and then be interviewed about the topic afterwards.  Part 2 consists of an interaction and then a discussion.  You will be assigned a partner to take the exam with.

The exam is marked according to the 7 point grading scale. For calculation of the average mark for the Danish 3 Examination, the oral communication mark has double weight. An exam certificate is issued when all the tests that make up the exam have been completed.
